Flexor

Scroll down to see details about Flexor, a neck muscle rehabilitation and exercising device I designed as part of my Final Year Project in University.

Flexor was my Undergraduate Final Year Project. It addresses issues with neck muscle rehabilitation and exercising which currently is a cumbersome and expensive process with long waiting times, often worsening the injury before treatment.
A back muscle exercise device was used by some physiotherapists in the treatment of neck related injuries as there is no device available with which the patient can be monitored remotely whilst performing the exercises. This is a major obstacle to a home-based solution to the treatment of whiplash related injuries.
Once I graduated from UL I continued work on the project, securing commercialisation funding from Enterprise Ireland. Since securing the grant, Flexor has successfully completed patient trials and secured both European and US patents.
